BMD® 50 (bacitracin methylene disalicylate) is a Type A Medicated Article that controls swine dysentery associated with Brachyspira hyodysenteriae in pigs up to 250 pounds, and controls clostridial enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens in suckling piglets when fed to sows from 14 days before through 21 days after farrowing on premises with a history of clostridial scours. Research indicates that by controlling C. perfringens in suckling pigs, BMD 50 can decrease morbidity and mortality and improve weaning weights.1
